Theres a trick to washing a sandy gi. First, you hang it up and let it dry (preferably outside). Then you shake the sand out, then you wash it. Works every time. The belt cannot be washed, though, you have to keep rinsing it and then let it hang to dry.

That looks like a great class! I'd hate to have to wash those gis afterwards, though!
